the academic committee
The Academic Committee organizes and hosts events aimed towards undergraduate academic success and exploration in post-undergraduate paths, such as graduate school or medical school. Committee members work to bridge the gap between undergraduates, graduate students, and professors and strive to create a more cohesive bioengineering academic community. Members work on a professional basis with programs such as BEAST, the bioengineering graduate student mentorship organization, and MTM, the Master of Translational Medicine program at UCSF. Together, we host both social events and informational graduate school panels. Members also network with professors and student researchers through organizing lunches and lab tours to help undergraduates find research opportunities tailored to their interest. Lastly, the committee prepares larger events such as research exhibitions and symposiums, panels with graduate students, and workshops to help with academic planning that together enrich the bioengineering community by providing undergraduates with important insight into unique academic paths within bioengineering at Berkeley, and beyond.
